Behind Ortiz & Reed are José Manuel Ortiz and Lourdes Pérez Reed. Our brand brings together Spain and Mexico, our families and a shared approach to life: working with dedication, caring about the details and appreciating things made well.

José Manuel Ortiz

Co-founder · Roots in Linares, an outlook shaped by the world

I was born in Linares into a hardworking, enterprising family. My father, Germán, left me a memory that is still with me: the way he dressed, his immaculate shoes and the confidence with which he stepped outside. Through her hard work, my mother taught me to keep moving forward. The values I inherited from them are now part of Ortiz & Reed.

My years studying in Úbeda sparked my admiration for craftspeople and for beauty that lasts. A scholarship then took me to the United States and opened my eyes to other cultures. Travel became a way to learn and understand people.

My career in fashion accessories gave me the opportunity to work in international sales and discover markets and clients such as Harrods, Seibu, Barneys and El Palacio de Hierro. After more than a decade of experience and an MBA, I decided to start a business. In Lourdes, I found the person with whom to share both a life and a brand.

Lourdes Pérez Reed

Co-founder · Mexico, London and Spain

I was born in Mexico City. As a child, I accompanied my mother, Lulú Reed, in her work with brands and department stores. She taught me to appreciate fashion, the quality of European products and the value of personal relationships.

I studied Psychology at Universidad Iberoamericana and completed a master’s degree in Psychoanalytic Development at University College London, together with the Anna Freud Centre. Living in London helped me understand myself better and take on new challenges.

When I met José Manuel, I moved to Spain. Together, we decided to create something that reflected who we are: Ortiz & Reed. My education and experience have taught me to listen. Our customers’ opinions are therefore part of how we develop and improve every collection.

What inspires us

Loyalty, transparency and attention to detail guide our work. We want to share our passion for shoes and accessories that accompany your life, from a day at work to a trip or a special occasion.

We believe in elegance that feels like you. In choosing a good pair of shoes, matching them with a belt and stepping out with confidence. That is the idea that brings our men’s and women’s collections together.
